India Investment Summit in New Delhi on 4-5 February, 2016
Ministry of Finance, Government of India is organizing the India Investment Summit in New Delhi on 4-5 February, 2016. The two-day Summit will focus on investment opportunities in India, and also discuss issues relating to the capital market regulatory structures.
2. A large number of investors, including Sovereign Wealth Funds and Pension Funds are expected to attend the Summit in New Delhi. The Summit would showcase and discuss the huge investment opportunities in India, especially in the Infrastructure space.
3. To further encourage large scale foreign investments, the Government of India has recently established the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF). Apart from Government’s own contribution in the NIFF, India is seeking equity participation from foreign anchor partners, including Sovereign Wealth Funds and Pension Funds. The objective of NIIF is to maximize economic impact mainly through infrastructure development in commercially viable projects, both Greenfield and Brownfield.
