Recruitment of Indian Nurses
With effect from 1 June 2015, the Foreign Employers who seek to recruit Indian nurses, need to register in the eMigrate system (www.emigrate.gov.in). The duly filled-in registration application will then be vetted by the Indian Mission. Thereafter, the Foreign Employers can raise the demand for Indian nurses on the eMigrate system with terms and conditions of their employment. With this, no further attestation of demand would be required from the Indian Missions.
The recruitment of nurses for Overseas Employment will be through three state-run recruiting agencies viz.
a) Non-Resident Keralites’ Affairs Department (NORKA-ROOTS), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala (Phone: +91471-2770500, 2332416, 2332452 Fax: 0471-2326263; e_mail: mail@norkaroots.net; Website: www.norkaroots.net);
b) Overseas Development and Employment Promotion Consultants Ltd. (ODEPC), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala (Phone. +914712576314/15/19 Fax:+914712576318; Email: info.odepc@kerala.gov.in; website: www.odepc.org ); and
c) Overseas Manpower Corporation Limited (OMCL), Chennai, Tamil Nadu (Phone: 0091-044-22505886/22502267/22500417; Fax 091-44-22500416 Email: ovemcl@gmail.com; Website: www.omcmanpower.com).
These recruitment agencies which are authorized to recruit Indian nurses will not charge any fees towards recruitment expenses from Indian nurses. Moreover, foreign employers in Qatar will not recover any amount towards the cost of recruitment from Indian nurses, initially or subsequently, during their contract.
Further, with effect from 01 June, 2015, the emigration of nurses for Overseas Employment in Qatar will require prior emigration clearance from Protector of Emigrants’ offices in India. However, the age restriction of 30 years imposed on all women emigrants emigrating on Emigration Check Required passports irrespective of nature/category of employment will not be applicable in case of nurses visiting Qatar for employment.
