Embassy’s response to media queries about an incident involving an Indian national

          Embassy of India, Doha has requested the authorities concerned in Government of Qatar to undertake thorough investigations into an unfortunate incident in which an Indian national was reportedly beaten up by some persons on 8 May, 2015. The Embassy is concerned about the well being of this person and has sought consular access to him. 

2.      The Embassy was represented at a senior level at a meeting convened by a senior officer of Ministry of Interior, Government of Qatar on 10 May with representatives of the large, diverse, accomplished and highly regarded Indian community in Qatar. During the highly friendly and useful discussions held at this meeting, all the attendees shared the view that any complaint/grievance should be brought to the attention of the authorities concerned and nobody should take any unlawful action.
