PHDCCI business delegation visits Qatar to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties
An 8-member high-level business delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), India, visited Qatar from September 21–23, 2025, with the objective of exploring avenues for enhancing bilateral trade and investment cooperation. The visit reflected the shared vision of both India and Qatar to deepen economic engagement and unlock new opportunities for businesses in emerging as well as traditional sectors.
During the visit, the delegation held productive meetings with key Qatari institutions, including the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZA), and Invest Qatar. These interactions focused on expanding commercial partnerships, exploring investment opportunities, and identifying potential collaborations in areas aligned with Qatar’s diversification strategy and India’s fast-growing economic landscape.
The delegation held B2B meetings at Qatar Chamber, providing a valuable platform for Indian businesses to directly connect with their Qatari counterparts. Businessmen from both sides touched on trade and economic relations between Qatar and India, ways to enhance them, opportunities for collaboration and partnerships between the Qatari and Indian private sectors, and promising sectors for Qatari investments in India. The meeting also included a presentation highlighting investment opportunities in India across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, transport, smart cities, technology and innovation, food security, agriculture, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, and fintech.
In addition, the Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC), Qatar, organized a networking event which brought together members of the Indian and Qatari business communities . The event served as a vibrant forum for dialogue, exchange of ideas, and exploration of new partnerships.
The delegation represented a diverse mix of sectors including consulting services, IT & ICT, organic food, textiles, garments, toy manufacturing, chemicals, HVAC and MEP. The broad sectoral representation underscored the depth of opportunities available for cooperation, ranging from technology-driven services to value-added manufacturing and consumer products. The engagements during the visit were marked by constructive exchanges and a strong commitment to building long-term partnerships, which are expected to generate mutually beneficial outcomes.
