Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC)

The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India awards 150 scholarships to children (studying in India) of PIOs/NRIs and Indian workers working in ECR countries yearly, where the gross monthly income of the parents is not more than US$4000.

Under the Scholarship Scheme, the Government fo India would bear 75% of the total Institutional Economic Cost (IEC) subject to a maximum of US$4000. The following institutions are covered under the Scheme : -

• NITs, IITs, Schools of Planning and Architecture
• ‘A’ Grade institutions accredited by NAAC and recognised by UGC
• Central Universities of India
• Other institutions covered under DASA Scheme

Only fresh year students (1^st year) shall be eligible to get the scholarship. All eligible candidates may apply for the scholarship accordingly under the Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children scheme.
