Vishwa Hindi Diwas is being celebrated in Qatar on the initiative of the Indian embassy of Qatar. Birla Public School, Doha-Qatar hosted the celebration to mark the day. The celebration is from 10 January to 15 January 2019 which is sponsored by the North Indian Association of Qatar. Various competitions are being held for students of grades 1 to 12. 14 Indian schools of Qatar are participating.
Today, the 10 January 2019, Mr. Hemant Kumar Dwivedi, First Secretary for Information and Education at the Indian embassy inaugurated the function in Basant Kumar Birla Auditorium. Mr. Irshad Hussain and Mr.Sudhir Gupta witnessed the occasion. Mr. Hemant Kumar Dwivedi read the message fromof the Prime Minister of India Mr.Narendra Modi, and motivated students on the importance of Hindi, the national language (rajbhasha). To promote Hindi 10 January 1975 in Nagpur,India they started celebrating. And in 2006, the former Prime Minister, Mr. Manmohan Singh announced that every year10th January will be celebrated as World Hindi Day. Mr.Sudhir Gupta recited a poem and Mr. Irshad Hussain addressed the gathering.
The audience was welcomed by Jineshwar of grade 9. PrishaSahoo of Grade 9 recited a poem on Hindi Diwas. Poem recitation, Essay Writing and Public Speaking in Hindi were the competitions held today.
The Principal of Birla Public School,Mr.AP Sharma thanked the audience and participants of various schools. The day’s programme ended with a recital of Mr. Hemant Kumar Dwivedi’s poem by Mr.AP Sharma.
