VISA SERVICES - REQUIREMENTS & DETAILS
e-Visa services have been available for Qatari nationals since February 2025, which can be accessed using the following link-

Following are the general guidelines for applying for an Indian visa from Qatar. Please go through the details and prepare your application accordingly.
General Requirements
- All applicants must be physically present at the Embassy during the submission
- Visa application has to register on the link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visaunder Regular Visa application. After saving the application a print out of the application should be signed by the applicant.
- Applicants holding dual citizenship are requested to update the information on the online application form. All the original passport/s (including dual citizenship holders and two valid passport holders) needs to be submitted along with the application. Please note Passport withdrawal is not possible during the visa processing period.
- The Passport whose Nationality is linked to the Qatar Resident Permit /Work Permit has to be submitted for Visa. ( For Example - Applicant holds both USA and Italy Passports , If the nationality on Qatar resident permit reflects as USA , then the USA passport has to submitted for Visa, not applicable for Pakistan dual nationals ).
- Applicants are requested below details while submitting online visa application , One Reference Name /Complete Address /Contact Number in Qatar and One Reference Name / Complete Address /Contact Number in India has to be mentioned.
- All applicants applying for visa must bring Original passport, Passport copy and QID copy (Resident Permit or work-permit)
- Two latest white background passport size photograph 2x2 size. Photograph should be taken less than 6 months. Passport must be valid for more than six months with at least two blank pages at the time of submission of application.
- It is to be noted that Passports will be released only when Visa is released. Any emergency withdrawal of Passport before the Visa release for Non-Qatari , applicant must give in writing the reason for release of Passport and the travel itinerary copy to be provided for travel needs.
- All Non - Qatari Passports will take 3 to 5 Working days for India Visa.
- Validity of all visas is counted from the date of their issue.
Minor Applicant
a- in case if one of the parents is not travelling, a NOC needs to submit by the non-travelling parent.
b- In case of parents is divorced /Custody - Copy of divorce decree/custody document issued by the courts needs to be attached along with the visa application.
Things to be Noted on Online Application Form
- Once online filled application is saved it cannot be edited. All information has to be filled as per passport only.
- No manual changes on the application form will be allowed.
- Information on Point I has to have Name of the reference person in India and Qatar.
- Address, Email and contact details of the applicant wherever asked for has to complete. Incomplete address and contact details will not be accepted.
- If middle name is there in passport it has to be filled along with Given Name
- In Place of Birth asked in application it has to be exact place of birth not the country of birth
- Father and Mother particulars has to be complete
- Employment details along with designation, employer name and address has to be in full. If the applicant is unemployed ie house wife or student or child the employment details of either spouse or father has to be mandatory.
- Any error on passport particulars and personal particulars the form has to be re-filed again with correct details.
Requirements for a Business visa
- Visa application has to register on the link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visaunder Regular Visa application. After saving the application a print out of the application should be signed by the applicant Visa Application Form should be completely filled and signed by the applicant.
- Photocopy of the passport bio- page and Original passport with validity at least six months beyond the Validity of visa.
- Minimum two visa blank pages should be available to stamp the visa.
- All applicants applying for visa must bring Original passport, copy and QID copy (Qatar Resident Permit)
- 2 latest white background passport size photograph. Photograph should be taken less than 6 months.
- Business Card / Company name card to be attached along with the application.
- A request letter from the Qatar Company in original on company letter head with company stamp.
- A letter of invitation from an Indian Company.
- Certificate of incorporation of the Indian company and Company Registration details of the Qatar company can be asked for, if required.
- Forward and onward journey flight ticket copy and hotel booking to be submitted along with application.
Note: All Non - Qatar Passports will take 3 to 5 Working days for India Visa and is subject to approval from respective authorities from applicant's home country.
Requirements for a Conference visa
- Visa application has to register on the link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visaunder Regular Visa application. After saving the application a print out of the application should be signed by the applicant.
- Visa Application Form should be completely filled and signed by the applicant.
- Photocopy of the passport bio- page and Original passport with validity at least six months beyond the Validity of visa.
- Minimum two visa blank pages should be available to stamp the visa.
- All applicants applying for visa must bring passport copy and ID copy / work – permit.
- 2 latest white background passport size photograph. Photograph should be taken less than 6 months.
- A letter of recommendation from Qatar company stating the reason for travel.
- A clearance letter from Nodal Ministry of Government of India.
- Letter from Host Organization inviting to attend conference. (In case of Political and Scientific Conferences, approval from competent Indian Ministry is required for the Conference).
- Forward and onward journey flight ticket copy and hotel booking to be submitted along with application.
To be Noted for PRC Nationals:
- Specific individual approval of MHA has been waived off. However the MHA, MEA approval letters for specific event, along with invitation letter is mandatory.
- Date of entry into India should not be earlier than seven days from the date of issue of the visa
- Processing time for Conference Visa applications will be minimum 15 working days (so applications to be submitted accordingly)
Requirements for a Employment visa
- Visa application has to register on the link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visaunder Regular Visa application. After saving the application a print out of the application should be signed by the applicant.
- Visa Application Form should be completely filled and signed by the applicant.
- Photocopy of the passport bio- page and Original passport with validity at least six months beyond the Validity of visa.
- Minimum two visa blank pages should be available to stamp the visa.
- All applicants applying for visa must bring passport copy and QID copy / work-permit.
- 2 latest white background passport size photograph. Photograph should be taken less than 6 months.
- Applicant must be working in Qatar for more than 2 years. A documentary evidence for the same has to be produced along with application ( Previous ID Copies/ Employment letter from current employer for more than 2 years/Experience letter from previous employer stating the duration of work )
- Applicants are required to submit proof of contract/employment/engagement signed by both parties (i.e. employee and employer). Income must be more than 16.25 Lakhs INR per annum. It is to be noted that salary mentioned in INR only.
- Company Letter from India should mention Name, designation, Job title, Place of posting and Duration.
- Company Letter from Qatar should mention Name, designation, Job title, Place of posting and Duration.
- Certificate of incorporation. (Certificate given by the government of India to the Indian Company)
- Highest educational certificate.
- Experience Certificate.
- Resume/CV of the applicant.
- Undertaking letter from Indian company about non availability of Indian National for the specified job.
Requirements for a Medical visa
- Visa application has to register on the link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visaunder Regular Visa application. After saving the application a print out of the application should be signed by the applicant.
- Visa Application Form should be duly filled and signed by the applicant.
- Photocopy of the passport bio- page and Original passport with validity at least six months beyond the Validity of visa.
- Minimum two visa blank pages should be available to stamp the visa.
- All applicants applying for visa must bring passport copy and QID copy / work-permit.
- 2 latest white background passport size photograph. Photograph should be taken less than 6 months.
- Letter from Doctor or Diagnostic report for treatment in India.
- Diagnostic Report / Consultation Report from Qatar hospital for the treatment.
- Bank Statement of the applicant (last Three month).
- Forward and onward journey ticket copy to be submitted along with application.
Requirements for a Diplomatic / Official visa
- Visa application has to register on the link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visaunder Regular Visa application. After saving the application a print out of the application should be signed by the applicant.
- Visa Application Form should be completely filled and signed by the applicant.
- Photocopy of the passport bio- page and Original passport with validity at least six months beyond the Validity of visa.
- Minimum two visa blank pages should be available to stamp the visa.
- All applicants applying for visa must bring passport copy and QID copy / work-permit.
- 2 latest white background passport size photographs. Photograph should be taken less than 6 months.
- Note Verbal from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicating the purpose of the visit in case of Qatari
- Note Verbal from the Embassy or Organization concerned in case of their diplomats/officials indicating the purpose of the visit
Requirements for Entry visa
- Visa application has to register on the link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visaunder Regular Visa application. After saving the application a print out of the application should be signed by the applicant.
- Passport with minimum validity of six month and 2 blank pages.
- Application forms duly filled and signed (date & places of travel with flight details).
- All applicants applying for visa must bring passport copy and QID copy / work-permit.
- Entry Visa can generally be applied by the applicant who are either spouse or child of an Indian. Applicant travelling to India for a specific event will also fall under entry visa.
- Qatar/Foreign nationals of Indian origin, his/her spouse and dependent children may apply for entry visa, subject to production of proof of the PIO/OCI status, marriage certificate (in respect of spouse) and birth certificate (in respect of children). Spouse of an OCI/PIO card holder and dependent children can also apply for Entry Visa subject to production of necessary proof.
- Foreign nationals who own property in India may also apply for an Entry visa and submit documentary proof of permission of the Reserve Bank of India for the purchase/holding of the property in India.
- For those married to Indian nationals, original Indian Passport of the spouse, attested marriage certificate in original and copies and sponsorship letter from the Indian spouse are required. For children of either parent being an Indian passport holder, please submit attested child's birth certificate, one of the parents Indian passport in original and photocopies and sponsorship letter.
Requirements for a Journalist visa
- Visa application has to register on the link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visaunder Regular Visa application. After saving the application a print out of the application should be signed by the applicant.
- Visa Application Form should be completely filled and signed by the applicant.
- Photocopy of the passport bio- page and Original passport with validity at least six months beyond the Validity of visa.
- Minimum two visa blank pages should be available to stamp the visa.
- All applicants applying for visa must bring passport copy and ID copy / work-permit)
- 2 latest white background passport size photograph. Photograph should be taken less than 6 months.
- Journalists and media personnel travelling to India for professional/work related /tourism or for any other purpose except for employment in an Indian Media Organization are advised to apply for Journalist visa.
- Journalists having OCI/PIO cards, intending to visit India, may use the OCI/PIO card in case the visit does not involve restricted areas. If the visit to PAP/RAP areas is involved, the journalists holding OCI/PIO card must approach the High Commission for prior approval to visit restricted/protected areas. Requirements for a Student visa
- Visa application has to register on the link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visaunder Regular Visa application. After saving the application a print out of the application should be signed by the applicant.
- Visa Application Form should be completely filled and signed by the applicant.
- Photocopy of the passport bio- page and Original passport with validity at least six months beyond the Validity of visa.
- Minimum two visa blank pages should be available to stamp the visa.
- 2 latest white background passport size photograph. Photograph should be taken less than 6 months
- The students should submit proof of admission to an educational institution recognized by the Government of India. (Original)
- Student latest educational certificate attested from MOFA Qatar.
- Travel Itinerary.
- Proof of Payment of Fees.
- Parents no objection letter and financial undertaking letter to be submitted with passport and QID copies.
- All applicants applying for visa must bring passport copy and QID copy / work-permit.
Requirements for a Tourist visa
- Visa application has to register on the link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visaunder Regular Visa application. After saving the application a print out of the application should be signed by the applicant.
- Visa Application Form should be completely filled and signed by the applicant.
- Photocopy of the passport bio- page and Original passport with validity at least six months beyond the Validity of visa.
- Minimum two visa blank pages should be available to stamp the visa.
- All applicants applying for visa must bring passport copy and QID copy / work-permit.
- 2 latest white background passport size photograph. Photograph should be taken less than 6 months.
- The validity of a tourist visa cannot be extended.
- Travel Itinerary.
- A letter from Employers or Sponsors and a Bank Statement of the applicant (last three month).
- Forward and onward journey flight ticket copy and hotel booking to be submitted along with application.
- For Yemeni Nationals bank statement is mandatory. (for minor applicant parents financial undertaking letter and parents bank statement is mandatory)
Requirements for a intern visa (Student visa S-6)
- Visa application has to register on the link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visaunder Regular Visa application. After saving the application a print out of the application should be signed by the applicant.
- Visa Application Form should be completely filled and signed by the applicant.
- Photocopy of the passport bio- page and Original passport with validity at least six months beyond the Validity of visa.
- Minimum two visa blank pages should be available to stamp the visa.
- All applicants applying for visa must bring passport copy and QID copy or work-permit.
- 2 latest white background passport size photograph. Photograph should be taken less than 6 months.
- Letter of Offering Internship from India mentioning the internship period/salary drawn for Internship /location from NGO / Indian Company / Educational Institution
- Undertaking letter from Qatar Company / Institution mentioning the internship program in India wherever its applicable
- Foreigners intending to pursue Internship in Indian Companies, Educational Institutions and NGOs subject to usual checks and formalities and subject to the following conditions :
- The period of visa to be restricted to the duration of the Internship programme or one year, whichever is less.
- The Intern Visa will be granted immediately after completion of Graduation / Post Graduation but the gap between the completion of Graduation / Post Graduation and the commencement of the internship should not be more than one year.
- Visa to be granted on the basis of a letter from the Indian company/ Educational Institution / NGO concerned, sponsoring the foreign national for the internship programme and clearly indicating the period of internship.
- In case the internship is in a company, the foreign national being sponsored for internship should draw a minimum remuneration of Rs.7.80/- lakhs per annum. There will be no minimum salary limit in the case of internship in Educational Institutions and NGOs.
Requirements for a Transit visa

- Visa Application Form should be completely filled and signed by the applicant.
- Photocopy of the passport bio- page and Original passport with validity at least six months beyond the Validity of visa.
- Minimum two visa blank pages should be available to stamp the visa.
- All applicants applying for visa must bring passport copy and QID copy work-permit.
- 2 latest white background passport size photographs. Photograph should be taken less than 6 months.
- Proof of confirmed reservations for onward journey from India should be submitted along with the visa application.
- Valid for direct transit only.
- If transit is for boarding a vessel in India, Letter of invitation from Indian Company is required.
