Child Protection Laws in different countries

Q: Child Protection Laws in different countries
A:

Child protection refers to the protection of children from violence, exploitation, abuse and neglect. Due to differences between countries in terms of society, religion, traditions, development levels, legal systems, etc. a child may not have the same rights in one country as in another. However, Article 19 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child provides for the protection of children in and out of the home. Signatory states of the UN Convention may have common child protection laws. • It is advisable to check the official website of the concerned Department/Ministry of a country to know the child protection laws in that particular country. You could also seek the advice of the Indian Embassy in that country.
